This is a horror survival game that uses puzzle solving, environmental exploration and combat elements. Using a first-person perspective, players take on the role of Henry as he explores the abandoned animation studio and can only use restricted movements such as running and jumping. Players can collect different props, some of which can be used to unlock different puzzles. Players can collect cans of salted gravy to unlock achievements or restore Henry's stamina.

Most of the game's combat is with different melee weapons, including axes, pipes and plungers, with exceptions including players being able to temporarily use submachine guns in later chapters. The game's main antagonists are ink monsters, which have different abilities and some cannot be harmed, so players must strategically move away from each other and attack at the right time. As for the enemies that cannot be harmed, players must hide in order to survive. If Henry suffers too much damage, he can still escape to devour his own ink and reappear in one of the Bandy statues as a save point.

In addition, players can find tapes in various locations, play them to enable players to better understand the storyline of this studio and the staff, some tapes are easy to miss and require deeper exploration to reveal the secret areas where the tapes are located.
