Dr. Eggman is back to his old tricks, trying to find the seven Chaos Emeralds that will allow him to complete his ultimate weapon, the Egg of Death. Only the triple threat of Sonic, Tails and Knuckles can defeat him in this remake from the team behind Sonic Mania!

Sonic The Hedgehog 2 joins the ever-growing lineup of "SEGA Forever," a free treasure trove of SEGA console classics, brought to life for the first time on a mobile device!

The game's plot revolves around the fact that the South Island has been quiet since Dr. Robotnik's failure. Bored, Sonic decides to embark on a journey in search of other adventures. Upon his return, he is shocked to find the island almost abandoned. The only clue as to where all his friends may have disappeared to is Tyreese, who is being chased by Dr. Robotnik. Sonic chases him, but he is too late to save Tyrese. Sonic discovers that he has been kidnapped by Dr. Robotnik and is being held captive in a place called the Crystal Egg. the price for Tails' safe return is 6 Chaos Emeralds, which will be delivered to 6 new Boss robots. So, Sonic continues his search for the Chaos Emeralds and rescues Tails.

The game features twelve Badnik-infested areas, from underwater caves to neon-lit casinos! Compete online, challenge Time Attack mode, and play without entering the original version of the secret hidden palace area stage, fight Dr. Egghead's creations, including the fearsome Mecha Sonic, and get all the Chaos Emeralds to transform into Super Sonic and Super Knuckles!

How To Play

At the start of the game, players can choose to play as Sonic, Tails, or both. The difference between the two is purely decorative; both have the same abilities. In dual mode, the player controls Sonic while Tails runs around him. A second player can join in and control Tails alone at any time. play takes place over a series of levels, each divided into one, two or three acts, with a boss battle against Robotnik at the end of the final act. Some levels have unique features.

For example, Emerald Hill has corkscrew-like rings that Sonic can use to protect himself from enemies and obstacles (except traps and drowning), while Chemical Plant has boost pads that immediately allow Sonic to reach his maximum speed. Characters can jump on enemies to defeat them; the game also introduces a new move, the "spin dash" or "super dash attack," by which players curl up into a ball and spin while stationary to increase their speed. When a player is attacked by an enemy without a ring, crushed, falls off the screen, drowns, or exceeds the ten-minute limit of the action, they lose a life and return to the beginning of the action or from the most recently passed checkpoint. Dying with zero lives will allow the player to end the game.

The game also has a competition mode in which two players compete against each other in a split-screen race to the finish line as Sonic or Tails through three regular levels and one special stage. After one player completes a regular level, the other player must complete that area within 60 seconds or the level ends immediately. In regular levels, players are ranked in five categories (score, time, rings held at the end of the level, total number of rings collected and number of item boxes broken). The player who wins in most categories wins the level. In special stages, players compete to obtain the most rings. When all stages are completed, the mode ends, or if the player loses all lives, their opponent automatically wins

Each of the game's seven areas consists of three acts, with the third act including a Boss battle (now consisting mostly of animal robots rather than a direct confrontation with Dr. Robotnik) in which the player does not have any rings to collect. At the end of each of the first two acts, players have the possibility of receiving rewards such as extra rings, lives, and meeting certain criteria when hitting the goal posts of the action, such as having a specific number of rings. In the first five areas, the Chaos Emeralds are hidden somewhere in the second act. These five emeralds, as well as the sixth obtained by defeating the Boss in the sixth area, are needed to access the game's seventh area and ultimately achieve a good ending to the game by defeating the game's final Boss.
