Stardew Cereal is an agricultural simulation game that is largely inspired by the Ranchers game series. At the beginning of the game, the player creates his character, owns a piece of land located in the town of Pelican, and the small house his grandfather used to own. Players can choose from several different farm map types, each with its pros and cons. Farmland is initially overwhelmed by boulders, trees, stumps and weeds, and players must work to clear them in order to reuse the farm, grow crops and livestock to generate income and further expand the farm's buildings and equipment.

Players can also interact with non-player characters (NPCs) who live in the town, including interacting with these characters and getting married, after which the NPCs will help the player look after the farm. Players can also engage in fishing, cooking and crafting, and can explore program-generated caves to mine minerals or fight in-game monsters. Players can perform various tasks to earn more money.

Characters have fatigue levels and health bars. If the player becomes exhausted anywhere outside the house, the player pays up to 10% of 1000 grams of gold and returns to the house the next morning and recovers his strength and may not continue the activity. If a player loses too much health, they will lose most of their energy as well as a random amount of money and items. The game uses a simplified calendar with only four months per year, representing the four seasons, and the months determine which crops can be grown and which activities can bring benefits. Later in the game, players can create greenhouses to grow any crop regardless of the current season.

As you progress, you'll learn new cooking and crafting recipes, unlock new areas to explore, and customize your skills by choosing from a variety of professions.

Become part of the local community. with over 30 unique characters in Stardew Valley, you can easily find new friends! Each has their own schedule, birthdays, unique mini transitions, and new things to say throughout the week and year. When you befriend them, they'll open up to you, ask for help with their personal problems, or tell you their secrets! Attend seasonal festivals such as luau, haunted mazes and the Feast of the Winter Stars.

Explore a huge and mysterious cave. As you go deeper underground, you'll encounter new dangerous monsters, powerful weapons, new environments, valuable gems, raw materials for crafting and upgrading tools, and mysteries to be uncovered.

Breathe new life into the valley. Since the opening of JojaMart, the old way of life in Stardew Valley has changed. Much of the town's infrastructure had fallen into disrepair. Help restore Stardew Valley to its former glory by restoring the old community center, or choose an alternative route and join forces with Joja Corporation.

Ask your partner to marry you and share your life on the farm with them. There are 10 available bachelors and bachelorettes, each with unique character progression transitions. Once married, your partner will live on the farm with you. Who knows, maybe you'll have kids and start a family?

Spend a relaxing afternoon at one of the local fishing spots. The waters are teeming with seasonal varieties of delicious fish. Make bait, floats and crab traps to help you catch every fish and become a local legend!

Donate artifacts and minerals to local museums.

Cook delicious meals and craft useful items to help you. With over 100 cooking and crafting recipes, you'll be able to create a wide variety of items. Some of the dishes you cook can even temporarily boost your skills, run speed, or combat power. Craft useful items such as scarecrows, oil makers, furnaces, and even rare and expensive crystal vials.
