Featuring an open world setting, similar to the gameplay style of the Batman: Arkham series, allowing for a full exploration of Gotham City. Gameplay is similar to its predecessor, LEGO Batman: The Video Game, but allows players to take on the role of the classic Batman character and various other DC Comics superheroes such as Robin, Batgirl, Green Lantern, Superman, The Flash and Wonder Woman. There are 75 playable characters. New gadgets have been introduced, such as Robin's Danger Cannon, Green Lantern's Power Ring, Superman's Heat Vision and Batman's Power Suit. An optional 2-player co-op game mode is also available. However, because the game has an open-world environment, split-screen is used. Much of Gotham City can be broken into "bricks" as players can use the broken bricks to build new suits or construct items that can help solve puzzles.
