Based on a true story from Taiwan, the story of Deemo, a young black man who uses his beautiful piano music to make an ancient tree grow taller and send a little girl who fell into a hole in the tree home, is the first music game that moves people to tears with its story.

Each time you complete a song, the tree on the piano will grow according to the completion of the song, All Charming grows the most, followed by Full Combo, and the tree will automatically trigger the game's plot and get a new track when it reaches a certain level of height. In version 1.0, the height of the tree is limited to 20 meters, while in version 2.0, it is 40 meters and the final 100% ladder, which will reveal the ending of Deemo and the character's life after passing the ladder. Version 3.0 adds the paid DLC "Forgotten Hourglass", which allows players to play the game in a reincarnation mode and get new tracks and storyline memory photos.

The game is played in a drop-based Mug section plus a story section with a lobby to explore. The whole story revolves around Deemo playing the piano to make the trees grow taller so that the little girl can leave the place and proceed. The game's plot progress is based on the height of the trees. Each time a new song is completed, the trees will grow a little taller, and the plot will appear at a certain height. Like other drop-based music games, Deemo is played by clicking on the notes as they fall from the top of the screen and reach the judgment line. There are only two types of notes in the game, click and slide. The black notes are clicked notes, which are tapped when they reach the judgment line.
