Description

Action role-playing video game. Cyberpunk 2077 takes place in Night City, an American megacity in the Free State of Northern California, controlled by corporations and free from national and state laws. It sees rampant gang warfare and the conflict between its ruling entities for dominance. The city relies on robotics for everyday aspects of garbage collection, maintenance and public transportation. Its visual identity derives from the four eras it has lived through - grim entropy, colorful kitsch, imposing neo-militarism, and flamboyant neo-kitsch. Homelessness abounds, but does not preclude the cybernetic transformation of the poor that leads to makeup addiction and the violence that comes with it. These threats are handled by the armed forces known as Psycho Squad. The Trauma Squad is available for rapid medical care. All citizens are allowed to openly carry firearms in public, due to the constant threat of physical harm.

In the game's overhead worldview, the United States has fallen apart after a series of wars and terrorist attacks in the late 20th century, leaving the federal government extremely vulnerable. The federal government has become extremely vulnerable, while multinational high-tech companies have risen to control every aspect of people's lives, widening the gap between rich and poor. Peasants lost their land due to the acquisition and merger of large corporations, and eventually had to wander around the big cities as a family unit to become a paramilitary organization; the lower and middle classes in the city were separated from their wives and families due to mass unemployment, and eventually formed street gangs to divide each other; the workers in large enterprises were living a glamorous life, but after all, they were thousands of horses competing for a pitiful promotion channel. The workplace environment is deceitful, everyone is at risk. Players will choose one of these three backgrounds and begin the journey!
